Freqently Asked Questions

In what are you different from your competitors ?

The first characteristic of WOW is its creativity. We are known for our capacity to find simple and original solutions for problems considered to be sometimes complex by others.

Our second strength is to channel this creativity within a multidisciplinary team of 40 engineers and technicians who are physicists, mechanical, robotical engineers, data processing specialists, electricial or electronical specialists.

Our customers can thus be reassured to see us controlling the whole development process of their equipment, from the functional specification until the startup, including on-site maintenance if necessary.

Rare are the companies like WOW which can, for the same project, program a robot AND develop the appropriate electronic interface  AND write a specific vision software.

We take the whole responsibility for the project, it is not diluted among several suppliers or subcontractors. It is an important advantage for the customer and it also enables us to affix EC marking without any reserve.

Finally, our company culture makes that throughout the realization of a contract, our engineers work in close cooperation with their customer, because they often make very specific equipment and it is then paramount to make sure that the need is perfectly understood.

"Engineering your ideas" is more than a slogan, but the daily behaviour of our teams.

How can you guarantee to your customers that the equipment will fit their need ?

We are convinced at WOW that the key of the success of a new equipment consists in establishing a relationship of trust and of partnership with our customer by following a methodology which already proved its reliability in demanding fields such as automotive industry, aeronautics, space, food and pharmacy.

We always start by establishing a schedule of conditions. This working paper can evolve by mutual agreement during the project. It details the objectives to be reached, makes sure that we have in our design all the needs and all the constraints of our customer, and it enables us to determine a protocol of tests which will validate the equipment during the acceptance.

Each project is subject also to a launch meeting with the customer, the project manager and the principal engineers who will handle the project. Meetings are then planned throughout the project to give progress reports.

Prototypes of feasibility are sometimes also realized to raise doubt about a new technology.

An analysis of risks (FMEA) is always performed by the project manager in order to make sure of the robustness of the realization.

And at the end of the manufacturing, factory acceptance (FAT) and on-site acceptance (SAT) processes allow to verify the equipment conformity.

All that of course has a cost which our customer agrees to deal with because the guarantee of result provided by WOW ensures him a time-saver and thus a money profit much more important.

Do you produce the equipment yourselves ?

Of course because we are much more than a simple research department.

We have our own workshops for machining, electric wiring, the realization of electronic circuits and the complete mechanical assembly of the equipment sof our customers.

We also have a workshop of machining which is quite invaluable for us for the fast realization of prototypes, to secure equipment manufacturing delays or to modify some mechanical elements quickly.

It is flexible, fast and efficient.

Are you bound to manufacturers of material ?

Absolutely not. We are neither representative nor retailer of an existing brand. That makes our credibility when we select an equipment. We can choose which adapts best to the customer requirements.

We also always work with brand names, securing the availability and after sales service.

In which fields do you have experience ?

We can say that we have today lots of experience in the sectors of aeronautics, space, automobile industry, food and pharmaceutics.

But the question should not arise because our speciality is to provide our customers with non-standard equipments.

For that, we go either to use equipment and technologies which already exist and which proved reliability, to modify them and assemble them to meet exactly the need of our customer, or to build the adequate machine completely.

We exploit our experiment coming from various fields of application to set up an original solution thanks to our “external” vision, not polluted by the practices of the trade. And that works very well.
